Religious Leaders Gathering
We will focus primarily on the Dakota people: How the Doctrine of Discovery affected them here in Minnesota and the importance of their sacred sites. We also will discuss the Doctrine of Discovery’s impact on the Ojibwe people of northern Minnesota, and on the Ho Chunk (Winnebago), who were relocated here briefly then brutally removed.
Space is Limited – 40 people
We wish to keep this event intimate and, at the same time, engage a range of religious traditions. We are inviting top executive leaders from each tradition. You also may bring an additional representative, such as staff doing racial/social justice work for your community. Thank you for your understanding.
