Julia Nerbonne, Executive Director of Minnesota Interfaith Power and Light (MNIPL), will share the story of IPL and its work to help people of faith find voice and passion at the intersection of social, racial and economic justice as we all confront the climate crisis. IPL has initiatives dealing with divestment of fossil fuels, “Cool” congregations, solar, youth, etc., and has engaged congregations, volunteers and staff from several religious traditions in various means of social change. Join us to learn and consider how the interfaith community is and, more important, can be more involved in addressing this most critical of issues. Julia has an undergraduate degree in Religion and Ph.D in Conservation Biology and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Conservation Biology Graduate Program at the University of Minnesota, as well as directing IPL.
